Job Description
LocumJobs Near Me is looking for a Practice Nurse to support a patient-focused GP practice in Inverness.
You will deliver core treatment room duties and long-term condition work as required.
Up to 4 days a week with flexible clinics.
Role Snapshot
• Practice Nurse sessions covering immunisations, wound care and chronic disease support.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver treatment room care including dressings, wound care and ear care where competent.
• Administer vaccinations and immunisations in line with current guidance.
• Support long-term condition monitoring such as asthma and COPD reviews within scope.
• Undertake cervical cytology if trained and maintain accurate recall and documentation.
• Perform observations, ECGs and phlebotomy where competent, following local protocols.
• Maintain high standards of infection control and clinical record keeping.
Working Pattern
• Part-time locum sessions with regular weekly availability.
• Up to 4 days per week, flexible start times and session lengths.
• Clinics planned in advance with scope agreed before each booking.
• Additional ad hoc cover available if you want extra hours.
Requirements
• NMC registration with recent experience as a Practice Nurse in UK general practice.
• Confident in core treatment room skills and vaccination delivery.
• Cytology qualification desirable, or willingness to focus on treatment room duties.
• Competence with GP clinical systems and accurate clinical coding/documentation.
• Up-to-date mandatory training and immunisation status.
