Job Description

LocumJobs Near Me is looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to support a busy GP practice in Whitby.

You will deliver same-day and routine appointments with autonomous clinical decision-making.

Up to 3 days a week available with flexible sessions.

Role Snapshot
• Primary care ANP role covering acute presentations, long-term conditions and triage.

Key Responsibilities
• Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations for minor illness and urgent presentations.
• Assess, diagnose and treat patients within scope, including independent prescribing where applicable.
• Triage and manage on-the-day demand, prioritising risk and safeguarding concerns.
• Request, interpret and act on investigations and results.
• Document clear clinical notes and complete referrals and safety-netting.
• Work closely with GPs, nurses and the wider MDT to streamline patient flow.

Working Pattern
• Locum engagement with regular weekly sessions available.
• Up to 3 days per week, sessions to suit service need and your availability.
• Mix of same-day and pre-booked appointments depending on experience.
• Start dates available at short notice.

Requirements
• NMC registration with ANP-level practice experience in UK primary care.
• Independent Prescriber qualification and evidence of safe prescribing practice.
• Confident managing acute presentations and chronic disease reviews.
• Experience using a UK GP clinical system and strong clinical documentation.
• Up-to-date mandatory training and immunisation status.
